Actions toward or within Syria made headlines nearly every day in the past week. Among them was the European Council’s decision to reinforce the EU’s restrictive measures against the al-Assad regime. In its vote, the European Council added 22 individuals responsible for human rights violations and 8 entities financially supporting to regime to the list of those subject to an asset freeze and travel ban.
